BUZZING WITH PURPOSE: BEE FARMING ESTATES BUILDING COMMUNITIES AND JOBS IN ZIMBABWE

About this cause

Beehive Farming Project

We had the honor to help launch a bee farming project called Zee Honey at the Gwebi College in Zimbabwe supported by one of our visionary donors at CARES. The initiative produced 2,000 hives and 80% full colonization. This project addressed not only enhancing local vegetation from the hard-work swarms of bees do, but critical economic and environmental pillars for rural communities through job creation and income generation for families.

Our funding supported the development of a Beehive Farming Project that expanded from 10 starter hives to an ambitious 2,000-hives within a year.

This project is about more than bees and honey—it’s about empowering communities with jobs, skills, and dignity. It provides training, income, and innovation while restoring ecosystems.

This project creates:

Skills training

Income generation

Youth opportunity

Ecosystem restoration

Sustainable farming pathways

It underscores our collective commitment to creating lasting impact towards a more equitable society.

We are grateful to all our donors and partners who made this possible. Locals now have a source of income selling honey to the local community. And nature is happy.

The next phase includes establishing community bee apiary hubs to give youth and families starter kits, technical training, and a path to self-sufficiency through sustainable farming.

Will you help our project grow by supporting this impactful community program?
