Food Production and Agricultural Development Project
Our Microalgae Farm in Zimbabwe, Africa project combines philanthropy, entrepreneurship, and innovation to tackle food security, malnutrition, jobs and economic development in local communities.
Spirulina microalgae farming provides essential nutrients, especially for mothers and children, to combat malnutrition while promoting sustainable agriculture.
Through the Spirulina Microfarming Food Access, Nutrition, and Community Upliftment Project, a single spirulina microfarm in Zimbabwe now produces spirulina powder superfood, enough to provide sustenance for an entire community with over 200,000 5g nutrient-rich servings annually that feeds and improves the health and nutrition of more than 500 children every day, indefinitely.
Impact
Supports the nutrition and health of 500+ children every day
Created 40+ contract jobs during construction
Supports 6 full-time jobs
Employs and trained 40+ local farmers and agricultural students
Added a classroom to support 200+ youth
Strengthens local food systems and community resilience
Promotes environmental benefits through recycled water, solar power, and carbon capture
We invite our donors and partners to join in impactful philanthropy. Over 4 years this increases to 600,000 people positively impacted by the nutritional properties of spirulina.
